Callum Robinson dropped as Cardiff City keep standards breach in-house

Cardiff City striker Callum Robinson has been dropped for failing to meet club standards, BBC News reports, with head coach Barry-Murphy declining to explain the breach publicly.

Barry-Murphy said the expectations within the dressing room were an internal matter. He rejected suggestions about what had happened: “I think it’d be wrong to presume [what the breach was],” he said.

The decision comes against a backdrop of limited playing time for Robinson. Since Barry-Murphy took charge in June 2025, the striker has made only nine league starts. He had finished the 2024-25 season as Cardiff’s leading scorer, scoring 12 goals.

Barry-Murphy linked his stance to maintaining the qualities supporters expect from the team: “The supporters want to see certain qualities in their team week to week,” he said.
