Tom Howe led Cardiff’s scoring with a hat-trick as they shut out Bridgend in a 31-0 Super Rygbi Cymru win at Cardiff Arms Park.

The teenage hooker accounted for three of the hosts’ five tries, BBC News reports. Craig Hudd and Ethan Coombes supplied the other two, with fly-half Lloyd Lucas adding three conversions.

Cardiff’s victory was one of just two matches to go ahead amid widespread postponements, most of them caused by the weather.

In the other fixture, Carmarthen Quins beat Aberavon 21-3 in a contest between sides at the bottom of the table. Steffan Jones put Aberavon ahead with a penalty, but that proved their only score.

Lewis Morgan scored Quins’ first try. A penalty try followed after half-time, before a third try and Madoc Evans’ second conversion completed Carmarthen’s scoring.
